NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang attended Indonesia AI Day 2024. The “AI for Indonesia’s Future: Empowering Digital Transformation” session revealed how AI can become a cornerstone of the nation’s future growth.

• The AI industry in Indonesia. More than just a tool, AI has the potential to drive 8% of Indonesia’s annual GDP growth, unlocking opportunities across sectors. 
• AI, as an equalizer with its intuitive and accessible nature, AI bridges technology gaps and facilitates innovation. This inclusivity is crucial to Indonesia’s diversity. 
• SahabatAI was launched, an AI production and infrastructure hub developed by PT Indosat Tbk and GoTo Group. It aims to empower Indonesians by providing access to affordable energy.
• Tackling “barely possible” challenges with AI, according to Jensen, “chasing 0 billion-dollar markets.
• In a poignant moment, President Prabowo joined the event remotely while on an overseas trip. He called Jensen on a loudspeaker so everyone could hear the answer to “whether Indonesia could create its own AI,” to which Jensen replied it was possible and would support it.
• Following a heartfelt discussion, a contribution was made to victims of the recent volcanic eruption in East Nusa Tenggara.
